Bambi was my FAVORITE movie growing up and for nostalgia I decided to purchase it anyway. Attention to detail is something they are normally very good at too so it would have been nice to different outer packaging form the palette especially for cost. Especially because it doesn’t come with a collectors box the way they did with the other Disney collections or even the PR style box. I waited for them to put the photos and announce the prices, I cant lie I was hoping for a more vintage package and colors from the forest and when they put the prices up (the day before) I was a bit shocked. What do you think of this collection? Am I being too harsh on the palette design and aesthetic? I might test on my eyes after work today. I suspect the Flower palette won't work well on my skin tone. I am wearing Thumper today and it's a lovely five-shadow look. It isn't cheap makeup, but it looks below par.įor many folks, all that matters are the shadows inside and I appreciate that too. Not sure if it's the rectangular pans, the overall size relative to the price, or the old-school, simple packaging design from an older Disney movie that looks its age? The characters are wonderful (even though the movie gave me nightmares and I refuse to rewatch.) But I feel this is not nearly as well-designed as say the Mulan palette or even Hocus Pocus/Gather 'Round Sisters. These look less like the Natasha Denona 5-pans and they have a small mirror.īut these feel like a cheaper product than I'm used to from Colourpop. I also like that the palettes are cardboard rather than plastic. But they work just fine on the eyes, and the three formulas included - mattes, conventional shimmers, and the sequins - are consistent with past releases. I like these shadows just fine they're crumbly and messy to swatch, which I don't enjoy. I need to re-examine my relationship with Colourpop. These are single finger swatches on bare, fair/cool skin in indirect natural light. Thumper is a cool-toned taupe palette with a green and mauve shimmer.įlower is a cool-toned orchid monochromatic palette. These are two of the 5-pan eyeshadow palettes released in the Colourpop x Disney Bambi collection.
